Th3 (The Third Thursday) is pleased to announce the start of the 2013-2014 season of bringing cultural and visual arts events and attractions to the Syracuse and greater Central New York community. 

Th3 (The Third Thursday) is a consortium of  22 Syracuse Arts Venues that coordinate FREE monthly visual arts events from 5-8pm on the third Thursday of every month.

TH3 venues on the Connective Corridor include:

  • ArtRage – The Norton Putter Gallery, 505 Hawley Avenue 218-5711.  Exhibition on view:  Combat Paper Redux: Veterans Reclaiming their lives through Art.
  • Community Folk Art Center, 805 E. Genesee St., 442-2230.  Exhibition on view: The Idea of Modernity in Haitian Contemporary Art.
  • Everson Museum of Art, 401 Harrison St., 474-6064.  Exhibition currently on view:  20th Century American Art from the Permanent Collection
  • Light Work/Robert B. Menschel Media Center, 316 Waverly Ave., 443-1300.  Exhibitions on view:  40 Artists/ 40 Years: Selections from the Light Work Collection; Marna Bell: Imperfect Memories; 2013 Light Work Grants in Photography: Laura Heyman, Jared Landberg, Janice Levy.
  • SUArt Galleries, Shaffer Art Building, Syracuse University, 443-4097.  Exhibitions on view:  Nyumba ya Sanaa: Works from the Maryknoll Collection; A World Apart: Art from the Samuel T. Pees Collection; Henninger Art Class: Voices Heard and Celebrated.
  • SUNY Oswego Metro Center, The Atrium, Two Clinton Square , 399-4100.  Exhibition on view: Reemergence, featuring recent work by Michael Teres, a Professor in the Art Department at SUNY Geneseo.  
  • Urban Video Project, 401 Harrison St. (Everson Museum).  On view at Everson Museum UVP:  Dani Leventhal, Platonic, 2013.  In Leventhal’s Platonic, geometric specters twirl in space; pet cats foam at the mouth; a little boy mistakes his junkie dad for a superhero; and a confused adolescent worries he has sired a centaur.
  • XL Projects, 307-313 South Clinton St., 443-2542.  Advanced Painting.  Recent work by senior level and graduate level painting students at Syracuse University.
  • 601 Tully, 601 Tully St. , 378-6472.  7-8:30pm:  Word Thursday, featuring readings by Elinor Cramer and Omanii Abdullah, followed by an open mic.
