Starting the week of March 10, the City of Syracuse and National Grid will begin construction between West Street and Clinton Street on infrastructure work.  Some of this is in preparation for installation for a new city water main.   National Grid’s work is to improve critical infrastructure in the area.  In order to better align these construction projects, the City has decided to also begin Connective Corridor work in this area, starting at the intersection of West Street and West Fayette Street (in front of the Warehouse) and working east toward downtown.

During this period, street parking may intermittently be disrupted as the work progresses block by block.

Here is a handy guide to downtown parking that will help you find convenient spots.  Please patronize businesses in this area during the project.  They are terrific partners,  and they are working with the construction team to coordinate and keep the communication flowing.  They all agree that this is necessary work and the result will be worth it.  So visit them during construction, and help them out.

The city tells us that West Fayette Street has not been reconstructed since 1940.  After nearly 75 years, it’s time for these important improvements.  We look forward to working with the Armory Square Business Association and local businesses through this project.
