On Friday, August 31, Urban Video Project hosted a very successful First Annual Urban Cinematheque: Movie + Arts/Culture Fair in the plaza of the Everson Museum of Art. The event featured an outdoor screening of Academy Award-winning film “The Artist,” along with a fair featuring representatives from 14 arts and cultural venues from all around Syracuse. The event was part of Syracuse Welcome, and was attended by approximately 400 SU students and community members! The crowd was large and enthusiastic, the popcorn stand had a long line all night, and everyone learned a lot about the arts and culture of Syracuse.
This event, sponsored by Urban Video Project and Light Work, was made possible through the support of a Co-Curricular Grant from the Division of Student Affairs at Syracuse University, as well as the Connective Corridor, Everson Museum of Art, University Union, The Oncenter, and CMAC.
