The Connective Corridor, in collaboration with Light Work, is pleased to announce a new series of public art projections for the Urban Video Project (UVP). UVP is an important international venue for the public presentation of video and electronic arts.
Light Work is working with guest curators Emily Duke and Cooper Battersby to curate a series of projections for all three UVP sites that will take place from February 1 to March 31, 2010.
UVP is one of the only projects in the United States dedicated to continuous and ongoing video art projections – while some other venues project work sporadically, all three UVP sites run, commercial free, from dusk until 11 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, year-round. UVP is part of the Connective Corridor, which is emerging as a significant strip of cutting-edge cultural development connecting Syracuse University with downtown Syracuse. It is home to three major universities and more than twenty-five arts and cultural venues. In the coming months and years these venues will be stitched together and showcased with new urban landscapes, bike paths, imaginative lighting, public and interactive art, signage and way finding systems.
The Urban Video Project announces the latest release of the new interactive website. Click here urbanvideoproject.com to access numerous new features and increased accessibility that will allow anyone to log on, connect to, and get immediate information regarding UVP.
Anyone can learn about upcoming advancements, hear the latest releases and news, find out what artist is playing on a particular venue, read background insights into the work.
This update marks the added feature of digital records. Archival versions of all UVP press releases and documents will be available, so not only will you be able to see what’s playing tonight, but you can find out who made that video you saw months ago.
You will also be able to view any video that you’ve seen in person on the website as well, thereby allowing you to revisit some of your favorite work on your own schedule.
If you have any questions or suggestions related to the UVP website, please feel free to contact UVP producer Adam Brown.
