Something besides shrubs and flowers has been planted along Onondaga Creekwalk. A sculpture has started to take shape. Syracuse Public Artist in Residence Brendan Rose has had a hand in creating the art work with Syracuse University Industrial and Interaction Design students.
It has the appearance of a dragon, a serpent, a monster as pieces pop up near West Fayette and West streets. Its personality has yet to be determined.
In the meantime, Rose would like to give the work an identity. So give some thought to a proper name for the Creekwalk’s permanent resident and enter the naming competition. Submit your suggestion at SPAR’s website. The deadline for names is Oct. 2.
If your suggestion is chosen, you will receive a $50 gift certificate to Pastabilities restaurant in Armory Square. The winner will be announced Oct. 10.
