Here’s a brilliant engagement idea: Connect top interns and top employers in the region. Project-ION, a web-based portal to more than 500 internships each year, is doing just that. Students are invited to a Project-Ion Networking Event, April 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Key Bank, 201 South Warren Street, Syracuse. Bring your resume and find area employers looking for talented interns. There are opportunities in engineering, software development, advertising, marketing and public relations, finance, and other hot skill sectors. 83% of employers report that the primary focus of their internship program is to help them recruit college hires. Nationwide, nearly 70% of interns receive a full-time position offer as a result of their internship.
Project-ION is a great campus-community engagement project. It gives employers access to a database of talented interns and the ability to promote internship opportunities for free. It reaches college students across 21 counties of central upstate New York, and has made more than 1,500 successful matches – many of which have led to permanent employment. It’s a great way for employees to connect with enterprising students, and an important retention tool to keep young talent.
The project is a program of the Central New York Regional Alliance, the Pipeline4Progress Network and 40 Below, through CenterState CEO. Learn more at: www.project-ion.com
