It’s that time of year again! The 3rd annual Salt City Urban Art & Craft Market will take place on Saturday, October 22, from 10am to 6pm, at King+King Architects, 358 W. Jefferson Street. The popular event will feature 50 local and regional artists, designers and crafters, selling their handmade wares in a market-like atmosphere.
More than 800 people attended the event in 2009 and about 1,500 checked it out in 2010. “The response has been unbelievable,” says co-founder and organizer Vanessa Rose (sister to Brendan Rose!).
And with so many perks, it’s easy to see why. This year, the first 50 guests will receive a silk screen bag at the door, and the next 200 will score a letter press print made by a local bookbinder. While browsing with these goodies, guests can also enjoy food and drink from Strong Hearts Cafe, Cafe Kubal and Roji Tea Lounge, while being treated to various forms of live music.
The newer, bigger event space at King+King Architects will allow space for people to sit and relax. Rose says, “We want people to just hang out and have a good time.”
