The City of Syracuse and Syracuse University will hold two public information meetings to present and discuss plans for Phases Two & Three of the Connective Corridor Project. The meetings will be held:
- Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 9am to 10am at the Warehouse, 350 West Fayette Street, Fourth Floor Conference Room, and
- Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 9am to 10am at the Central New York Philanthropy Center, 431 East Fayette Street, Second Floor Ballroom.
Phase One of the Project was completed in the fall of 2012 and work related to Phases Two & Three, which includes Downtown, will begin in February. The Project will reconstruct the streetscape along portions of East Genesee Street, East and West Fayette Streets, South Townsend Street and South State Street.
The Project will reconstruct these streets to enable safe operation and accessibility for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders. The reconstructed streets will provide: new vehicular travel lanes, new sidewalks, new bicycle lanes, pedestrian amenities, traffic calming measures, improved signage, formalized bus stops, new lighting and street trees, green infrastructure, and enhanced intersection and street crossings.
The intent of these meetings is to inform property and business owners along the Corridor route of the current status of the project and upcoming construction logistics. These public meetings will provide the same content but will be held on two different days, at different locations. Both meetings are open to the public.
