The Warehouse Gallery will be hosting an open house on November 14 from 5 – 7 p.m. prior to the University Lectures presentation by Dr. Khaled Abou El Fadl at Hendricks Chapel. The Gallery is showcasing its first exhibition of contemporary international art with Faux Naturel, an exhibition by seven artists from Syracuse, Philadelphia, Montreal and Toronto.

Those attending the open house can then take the Connective Corridor shuttle bus from the Warehouse to the University Lecture by Dr. Abou El Fadl, a world-renowned expert in Islamic law, human rights advocate, and American attorney appointed to the US Commission on International Religious Freedom. Dr. Abou El Fadl writes extensively on universal themes of morality and humanity, and the notion of beauty as a moral value. Dr. Abou El Fadl is a staunch advocate and defender of women’s rights, and focuses much of his written attention on issues related to women. As the most critical and powerful voice against puritan and Wahhabi Islam today, he regularly appears on national and international television and radio including CNN, NBC, PBS, NPR, and Voice of America (broadcast throughout the Middle East). His most recent work focuses on issues of authority, terrorism, tolerance, Islam, and Islamic law.
