The Connective Corridor in partnership with VPA’s School of Design is pleased to announce a call to SU design students for proposals for a two-part mural to be installed on the Warehouse.

The two installations will include a large horizontal wall facing West Street and a smaller wall near the Washington Street entrance. Applicants are invited to submit work based on principles of creative placemaking. Designs should reflect student creativity and connectivity in ways that help the community see how students and programs in the Warehouse are infusing the city with life.

Proposals must include a conceptual drawings that speak to the entire scope of the project, a rendering of a selection of the mural depicting the graphic style that will be used throughout, as well as the other material listed below. Judges will consider the artist’s ability to complete the work, therefore more complete renderings will hold more weight with the judges. The selected student or student team must work with the Connective Corridor office and School of Design to complete the artwork, and assist in the review and approval process with the Syracuse Public Art Commission. The final design will be professionally installed by an independent contractor working with the Connective Corridor office.
