The Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council will be hosting is third public workshop for its University Hill Transportation Study on Thursday, October 18 at 6:30 pm at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel, 801 University Avenue.  The workshop is open to the public, and free parking is available at the Sheraton parking garage.

The study examines the complexity of transportation on the University Hill given its strong concetration of educational and medical institutions and other activities and property developments, to help guide policy and future planning for the area.  The initiative focuses on three primary issues:

  1. Interstate Access
  2. Institutional Parking
  3. Transit, Walking and Biking

The study will identify proposed improvements to meet the needs of University Hill for these three issues as it develops over the next 20 years. A major aim of the initiative is to ensure the economic viability of the institutions located in the study area while minimizing impacts to surrounding neighborhoods.
