Urban Cinematheque 2013: Outdoor Movie + Arts/Culture Fair

Friday Aug. 30, 8 p.m.: Beasts of the Southern Wild At UVP Everson (in the plaza)

The Urban Video Project (UVP) and Light Work / Community Darkrooms are proud to present the second annual Urban Cinematheque—an end-of-summer free outdoor film screening paired with an arts and culture fair. The fair will represent a wide array of the city’s cultural organizations in an effort to connect the community and students. This year’s film selection is the critically acclaimed and Academy Award-nominated movie Beasts of the Southern Wild. Urban Cinematheque is presented in partnership with the Everson Museum of Art, Oncenter and the Connective Corridor.

The screening is free and open to the public. Limited seating and popcorn will be provided.

Urban Cinematheque will feature booths by Syracuse arts and cultural organizations. Last year’s event featured representatives from 14 different arts and cultural venues from all around Syracuse providing information about upcoming events and exhibitions, as well as opportunities to become more involved.

The fair will begin at 7:30pm. The movie will start at 8:15 p.m.

Student buses will run continuously between Schine Student Center and the Everson Plaza from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The event may also be accessed via the Centro Connective Corridor bus line.

In the event of rain, the screening and the fair will be moved inside the Everson Museum.
